We have awarded a $15,000 Buddy's Grant to Animal Rescue Tablelands to build a new multipurpose day yard for their shelter dogs!
Animal Rescue Tablelands is a foster-based, no-kill organization located in Mareeba region in North Queensland making a real difference for dogs in need in the community. They have been working very hard over the years to build and develop an overflow shelter for dogs who’ve faced uncertain futures.
Operating without council funding, they’ve built a dedicated space that’s a lifeline for over 300 dogs and puppies every year.
This shelter is a place that ensures no dog is left behind. Dogs who are sick, injured, or simply need a little extra care to thrive are given the time and resources they need to heal as Animal Rescue Tablelands has a dedicated isolation room for these special cases.
Our Buddy's Grant donation will help Animal Rescue Tablelands complete a crucial project: finishing their kennel upgrades and creating a dedicated day yard with shade cover. These enhancements will give dogs a safe space to stretch their legs, sniff, play, and enjoy much-needed enrichment outside the kennels.
This yard will be essential for the mental and physical well-being of these rescue dogs. It allows them to release any energy, play like a dog, build confidence, improve socialisation and basic training.
