Happy Paws Haven is no kill animal rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming sanctuary for cats and dogs in the Clarence Valley in Northern NSW which provides adoption or re-homing services throughout Australia. At Happy Paws Haven our primary focus is on the animals in our care. When a cat or dog is accepted, we make a commitment to ensuring they are well cared for until they find a loving home matching their needs for however long that takes. We assist those with cats and dogs as pets keep their pets during time of adversity and crisis. Those who have to give up their pets for whatever reason, are assured that their cat (s) and or dog(s) find ever loving homes based on their attributes and needs. Happy Paws Haven is an incorporated, not for profit and endorsed animal care, welfare and adoption charity that was founded in July 2006. Each animal that enters the Happy Paws Haven shelter receives a proper veterinary check, microchipping, desexing and are well fed and cared for in a loving and caring environment. Happy Paws Haven also has a no kill policy meaning that no animals are euthanised unless they are suffering an illness with no chance of recovery or suffer major behavioural issues that endanger other animals including humans. This only takes place if all other avenues of rehabilitation have failed.
Adoption Policy: Strict
Happy^Paws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented as a questionnaire and strictly adhered to. We interview all potential adopters prior to asking them to complete our adoption questionaire. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission. We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog or a cat, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc. and finally a vet reference.
