NQAR is a foster based, registered charity run entirely by volunteers. Our mission is to transition dogs to forever homes, serve as a community resource and advocate for responsible dog ownership. We are based in Cairns and rehome dogs from across North Queensland. All pets are de-sexed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed and flea & tick treated, before being adopted out to wonderful new, approved homes. We are a completely not for profit organisation, and do what we do because we love animals and care about their welfare.

Adoption Policy: Strict

The animals in our care change daily, so if you’re looking for something particular please keep in contact with us so we can help you find the right pet for your family. Whilst in foster care, all of our animals are de-sexed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed and flea treated. We do not adopt entire (undesexed) animals. ADOPTION FEES Our Adoption Fees are as follows unless stated otherwise in the individual animals listing: Puppies (under 6 months) $400 Dogs (6 months – 8 years) $350 Senior Citizens (8+ years) $200 At NQAR we really get to know the dogs who are in foster care, so we are able to match you with the perfect companion. We can also help you get through any rough spots by offering training tips and other advice. Please note that home checks are required for all adoptions. Please only adopt an animal if you are willing to care for it, love it and provide a lasting home. Our animals have already suffered far too much and need life-long homes.
