Village Tails Inc., formerly known as The Mini Rescue, is a registered charity and non-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of animals across Australia. Established in 2021 by a passionate group of animal advocates, our organisation was born in response to the increasing numbers of homeless and neglected animals in our communities. Initially focusing on remote and underserved areas, we rebranded to Village Tails in 2024, reflecting the broad and supportive network that has flourished around our cause—a community we affectionately refer to as our "village." Our mission is simple yet crucial: to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need while raising public awareness about critical animal welfare issues. Each year, we dedicate ourselves to helping hundreds of animals find fresh starts. With the aid of our entirely volunteer team, each animal in our care is provided with the necessary shelter, medical treatment, and, when required, training to prepare them for adoption into loving homes. Our ultimate aim is to ensure every rescued animal is given a second chance and a brighter future. The heart of our work is sustained by the generosity of our supporters. Every donation, no matter its size, is invaluable and has a significant impact on the animals we serve. Adoption Policy: Moderate

At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home. How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide: Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
