DM Rescue

Our core mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find suitable new homes for otherwise homeless cats and dogs on the mid north coast and in the northern rivers of NSW. We prioritise ‘at risk’ animals located in our local pounds or in the community giving them a second chance at finding a devoted and loving home. All our animals receive vital vet work before adoption to ensure they are identified, immunised, parasite free, and cannot reproduce to ensure we are not contributing to the overpopulation of unwanted/abandoned animals. We offer a “Last litter program” when accepting private puppy/kitten surrenders by offering discounted desexing (when surrendering part of a litter) or free desexing (when surrendering the entire litter) of the mother of the litter helping to reduce the amount of unplanned litters in our communities.

Adoption Policy: Strict

All applicants are required to complete the application form in order to be considered. All dogs 6-months and over are desexed prior to adoption. A Desexing contract is to be signed prior to handover. All pups must be desexed between 24 & 26-weeks-of-age. Our animals are microchipped, vaccinated and given parasite prevention whilst in care. Out of area adopters are to provide a vet name & number so we can obtain a vet reference.
