Humane Animal Rescue

Our mission is simple; save animals lives on death row & treat them humanely. Every animal deserves a fair chance and kindness! We exist to make sure every animal is cared for with compassion. From the moment they're saved from death row, while they’re in the foster care system, throughout the adoption process, and beyond. Humane Animal Rescue was founded by friends in Naarm (Melbourne). After years fostering dogs and cats, we are here to offer an ethical, supportive, and caring rescue for poochies, pussies and the people who save their lives. We’re a 100% volunteer run not-for-profit organisation and without these caring, people we could never exist. We operate with compassion, kindness, and strive for great communication as a collective hivemind to nurture volunteer experiences, relationships, and ongoing support that empowers their roles.

Adoption Policy: Strict

When someone contacts us to apply for an animal we will send an application form to be completed. When we receive a completed application form we will share this with the foster carer to approve the applicant. We will then organise a meet & greet with the applicant and the foster carer to meet the animal, learn about their routine, behaviours and what they eat, drink, etc. After the meet & greet the applicant is contacted to see if they want to proceed with the application and the foster carer approves the applicant. We will then complete paperwork, payment, and organise a time to have the animal picked up. Animals are then adopted on a 2 week trial, during which we stay in touch and provide support for the new adopter. Once adopted we will send through vet records & paperwork and transfer their microchip. We offer ongoing communication and support throughout the fostering & adoption process.
