Since our humble beginnings in 1964, Animal Welfare League has grown into one of South Australia’s leading animal welfare organisations. In our mission to connect pets, people and community through a lifetime of love and memories, we find loving homes for vulnerable animals in need, reunite lost animals with their families, and provide temporary shelter through our foster care program. We offer education and pet advice to the community to encourage responsible pet ownership, assist vulnerable pet owners with essential pet-related services and our social enterprises provide much-needed support to South Australians looking for pet boarding facilities and pet cremation and memorial services, as well as those on the lookout for a bargain at our Op Shops.
Adoption Policy: Strict
Adoption Opening Hours: Wingfield Animal Care Centre Cat, dog and rabbit adoptions: 10am to 3pm Tuesday to Sunday Edinburgh North Shelter Cat adoptions: 10am to 3pm Tuesday to Sunday Dog adoptions: By application only Adoption Process Overview: Step 1 Review the animals here on our website and their suitability criteria before choosing which animal/s you are interested in. Step 2 Please ensure you take note of where an animal is located and their specific adoption process before visiting either of our locations. This is important, as you will not be able to walk through the dog kennels - you must choose which dogs you would like to meet before arriving. If you submit an adoption application, please wait for a team member to contact you before visiting either of our sites.
