West Coast Maremma Rescue

West Coast Maremma Rescue is a Not for Profit registered Charity established because of the increased number of Maremma requiring rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming in Western Australia. We provide permanent sanctuary to dogs with special handling needs and or health issues. We are a resource to the general public on breed traits and behaviours and educate on the importance of meeting the needs of livestock guardian breeds and the training and guidance required. We provide our dogs with exposure to multiple animals and people and a variety of stimulus to assess the best rehoming environment for each dog.

Adoption Policy: Strict

Expressions of interest are taken for our dogs available for adoption by way of an Adoption application form found on our website and if it is deemed the family/environment may be suitable we require a visit from potential Adopters to meet the dog and discuss the dogs needs to ensure they can be met for a successful rehoming. If the application is successful, a property check is done of fencing/other animals/ environment and if it is appropriate an Adoption Contract is signed, adoption fee paid. A trial period is agreed upon and noted in the contract. Adopters are mentored and given lifetime support of our dogs and dogs are to be returned to us if an unforeseen event occurs and the Adopters can no longer care for the dog.
